Case Studies

We deliver high quality, cost-effective spatial data collection services to Local, State, Federal Government, Utilities and Industry.

Case Studies

We have an extensive list of case studies available – here’s just a few

Preparation of Road and Park Surface Polygons

The City of Melbourne is developing and configuring an asset management software solution for all Council assets. To assist with the registration and management of road and park assets, Council needed a series of surface polygons over the roads and parks within the municipality.

Kerb, Gutter and Traffic Facilities Condition Audit

North Sydney Council has approximately 272km of kerb and gutter and 1157 traffic facilities under its care, control, and management. The works involved a detailed condition audit of kerb and gutter and traffic facilities within the North Sydney Council LGA.

Asset Inventory Survey

The project required the accurate mapping and collection of asset inventory data for a range of assets along 1621.5 km of freeways, highways and main arterial roads under VicRoads responsibility across 13 municipalities located in the north east, east and south east of Melbourne.

Bus Stop DDA Compliance Project

Data Collection and Valuation

Sutherland Shire Council required asset data collection, condition assessment and valuation of all parks and open space assets in approximately 615 sites within the LGA.

Railway Station Infrastructure Data Collection & Condition Assessment

As part of the TSC3 funding development project, RapidMap were contracted to work with AssetFuture to map, attribute and condition assess infrastructure assets at over 140 railway stations in S.E. Queensland.

Drainage Data Collection & Revaluation

The provision of municipal stormwater drainage network data collection and revaluation, to enable the collection of a complete inventory to update Council’s GIS, financial and Assets databases. The data collection was undertaken throughout the entire Maribyrnong LGA.

Sports Fields Data Collection

To collect detailed sports field information and associated infrastructure to assist Council in planning, asset management, turf maintenance and financial management purposes.

Sports Fields Data Capture

To collect detailed sports field information and associated infrastructure to assist Council in planning, asset management, turf maintenance and financial management purposes.

Mapping & Condition Assessment of the Sewer System

The Falls Creek sewer system has been progressively developed since the resort was established in the 1950’s and existing documents regarding the location and extents of the system are incomplete and have been poorly maintained.

Asset Data Collection for Parks and Open Spaces

The City of Casey is Victoria’s most populous municipality. They needed to collect asset information and condition data for over 2,450 parks and reserves for asset management and to assist with new maintenance contracts for Open Space Amenity Maintenance, Sports Fields, Turf and Landscape Maintenance.

Reserves Assets Data Collection & Condition Assessment

The City of Port Phillip covers an area of approximately 21 Km2 with a population of approximately 87,000. Port Phillip is known for its cultural diversity, artistic community, magnificent heritage buildings, foreshore which stretches over 11 km, beautiful parks and gardens and tree lined streets.

Stormwater Drainage Inventory & Condition Survey

To collect drainage inventory data to complement the existing stormwater drainage data in Council’s Asset Management System and determine the overall condition of the Stormwater drainage assets. All asset locations were verified and recorded.

Validation of Existing Street Light Data & Data Collection of Additional Lights

To validate existing Energex street light data to ensure the spatial location, addressing and textural attributes were correct, and to collect new street light data along roads and in parks and reserves.

“The RapidMap team was excellent, delivering the required information. I have learned a lot working with the RapidMap team and wish to work with them again. You made it so simple. Our open space data is much clearer and easier to work with than the previous data. Thank you.”
- Satish Bajracharya, Baw Baw Shire Council
"RapidMap have a very experienced and dedicated team with huge expertise in Asset Data collection. Previously we had little idea how many assets we had in open space. Now we have a very clear idea of what we have and its condition. This will be of enormous benefit in planning for the future and providing services to our community."
- Gwyn Cleeves, Sutherland Shire Council
"RapidMap’s proven methodology and built-in QC ensured the data was of the highest quality and saved us a great deal of money."
- Paul Lennox, Bass Coast Shire Council
"The project was completed within time and budgetary constraints and the supplied data, in GIS format, was of a high quality and met the specified requirements.”
- Cam McFarlane, Macedon Ranges Shire Council
“…Brendan and the team were a pleasure to deal with and I would have no hesitation in recommending RapidMap to other organisations.”
- Helene Agius, City of Port Phillip
