Background
An extraction for liquefied natural gas (LNG), undertaken by Origin Energy and ConocoPhillips in the Walloons coal seam gas fields in Queensland. Covering an area of approximately 570,000 hectares. The gas fields are being progressively developed over a 30 year time frame. Creating a complex network of drill sites, low pressure gathering pipelines, gas and water processing facilities, and high pressure gas pipelines to the Gladstone refinery on the coast.
Solution
Iconyx and Cohga collaborated to develop an innovative spatially enabled Command Center, referred to as RapidMap Project Status Portal. In order to provide the APLNG project managers with a unique new way to see what is actually happening during the construction and commissioning of the gas gathering network.
Result
The outcomes of this project are saving millions of dollars through efficiency gains and improved work safety, and have transformed the management of this complex and costly LNG venture.
