Road Dilapidation Survey

Road Dilapidation Survey Reports Australia

Keeping records of outdoor and roadside assets can be an incredibly time-consuming process. Finding all the local shop names, all street signs, utility signs and other assets can be very time-consuming. Measuring barriers and poles by hand can also be dangerous.

RapidMap’s vehicle-mounted camera will drive throughout your target area taking photos in all directions. AI will stitch together the images and identify objects such as poles and trees.

What is a Road Dilapidation Report?

Primarily, a Road Dilapidation Report records the condition of the road surface itself including damage, white lines and other features, but can also record and map out in 3D the assets along the roadside, creating a Digital Twin 3D map for further asset data collection. This includes street signs, road furniture. Your team can study areas of road to find issues that need to be addressed without having to leave their home or office.

Road Dilapidation Reports - What We Do

Rural Road Dilapidation Surveys & Corridor Mapping

It is important to keep track of roads and assets in rural areas, especially if the area is prone to flooding or fires which could destroy signage and barriers. This allows you to replace these assets if they are destroyed or damaged. The speed at which motorists drive on rural roads or on interstate highways also means that the condition of these roads must be maintained. Hitting a pothole at 110kmph could be deadly. Missing road reflectors could also be dangerous at night. Our process of recording 3D maps of the roadside isn’t only about improving road safety or data collection, it is also safer for the staff doing the work and analysing the work. No more sending people out to manually count and measure gates, fences, trees, barriers, signs or stoplights on the side of busy roads.

Our Road Dilapidation Survey Equipment

We use the most advanced road surveying equipment on the market.

Our vehicles are fitted with a range of 360° and high-resolution cameras, LiDAR and sensing systems sourced from 4D Global. This is the future of feature extraction where our mobile mapping services produces GIS data, digital maps and geo-referenced imagery as a 360° personalised street view as a snapshot in time for our customers.

Automatic Feature Extraction of Street-Level Imagery

Our software saves you time and money by using AI to automatically extract and annotate features of the road and street-level features. No more writing down the names of each business or wording on the sign or trying to decipher wording from blurry low-resolution photos from Google Street View. Our Road Dilapidation Reports save you an incredible amount of time and money.

360 mobile mapping

With a Digital Twin 3D map of your roads, you can easily assess any issues that need to be addressed. Your team can inspect road assets virtually whilst working from home or in the office without having to travel to check or measure themselves. Our clients get us to repeat these projects periodically so that new faults, damage or changes can be recorded and identified.
